About Hope Valley Treatment Center
Founded by Bryant and Marion Bivins, Hope Valley has become a trusted name in addiction treatment across North Carolina. With gender-specific campuses in Dobson and Pilot Mountain, we offer a welcoming, home-like setting that makes recovery feel possible even when life feels overwhelming.
Hope Valley was founded in 1970 with a simple vision: to create a safe, home-like place where we individuals who are struggling can have a comfortable place to be uncomfortable. As a family-run addiction treatment center, we take pride in offering a warm, welcoming environment that feels more like a close-knit community than a clinical facility.
Our staff combines professional care with down-to-earth compassion, using person-centered therapies to partner with each individual on their journey.
Together, we work toward treatment goals that reflect the client’s needs, values, and hope for the future, because healing happens best where people feel at home.
In our residential program we incorporate evidenced based modalities like Matrix Model, 12-Steps Model, Cognitive Based Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, and appropriate diagnosing to meet the individual client’s needs. We advocate for the clients to continually work on recovery, even after being discharged from our services. We believe attending supportive self-help groups is crucial in assisting the client to continue the recovery process, avoid relapse, and to maintain the gains made.

Welcome & Stabilization
Upon arrival, you’ll settle into our comfortable, gender-specific campus where healing begins immediately. We provide comprehensive assessment while you adjust to our home-like environment with cozy accommodations and home-cooked meals.
Individual & Group Treatment
Work one-on-one with experienced counselors while participating in small, intimate group therapy sessions with peers who understand your journey. Our gender-specific programming creates safety for authentic sharing and deeper healing.
Family Integration
Every other Saturday, families join our structured Family Program led by a dedicated counselor. Based on Al-Anon and Nar-Anon principles, these sessions educate about addiction while creating space for dialogue and healing among loved ones.
Wellness & Recreation
Rediscover joy through basketball, walking trails, fishing, reading, art, and games. These activities help you reconnect with yourself and others while developing healthy outlets for stress and emotions.
Community Building
Form lasting connections with peers and staff in our close-knit residential environment. These relationships often become lifelong recovery supports that extend far beyond your time with us.
Transition Planning
